OK today went pretty well other than the fact that chemistry kinda sucks.

English there was a huge debate between clifton and jeff vs diana and michelle over western imperialism in africa, which extended into the hallway and the class meeting(which i found pretty funny...)

Math was really... strange. We had to prove that ln(x) is a logarithm. Mr Perschbacher is almost done with my rec, which is good. :)

French we had a test and i think everyone messed it up. As long as we all fail together..

Chem everyone DID fail together... we got the screwed up molecular bonding tests back... i got a 67%. woohoo. But when averaged with my other test score it's like an 82 so that's salvageable.

NHS induction was at 7:00... I got to induct Shea. :P that was fun. While waiting for his turn to go up he kept flashing me really weird, worried faces... mostly because Lara, Jessica, Michelle and I were really bored and we were randomly clapping for people and stuff. We were pretty scared because Mike Yang had a 2 page speech, Ellen's was 1 page and that's just crazy, no one likes to sit there until 10:00. But thankfully the rest of the speeches were pretty short. Oh well so I got my turn to humiliate Shea in front of the principal, superintendant and other NHS members. It was fun. Basically I gave a speech about how a Red Sox fan exhibits all the characteristics of a member of NHS. People laughed, which rocked. Kiefer, Arnold, bunch of other people liked it. So I was pretty happy after that... talking with a bunch of people and justifying my (well Shea's too) belief that the paint roller is much more superior than a bucket of paint. Austin and I tried to get some service hours from Kent since we stayed until they had finished cleaning up, even though we didn't actually help them (we were there for moral support!).

Three day weekend woohoo!

i'm in the middle of a long weekend but the SAT's are on saturday and all my teachers decided that it'd be a perfect time to give us a buttload of work to do so... here i am waking up in the afternoon. yes!

physics is still ridiculously slow... haven't learned anythign new yet. oh well after failing my first test i managed to get the highest grade in the class for the next two... which was odd to say the least. raised my D to a B. i kinda feel bad for mr chan though. he took questions directly from the homework and put them on the test and the class screws it up. we dont do our homework lalaa.

stats is ok. we're doing probability now, everyone's favorite topic. mr krieckhaus is worried that i'm not being challenged enough in the class haha.

contemporary writers is the boringest class ever. zzzzzzzz.

calc is fun. george has stopped talking so much and the class is making more sense. then again our table group still spends like half the period drawing on kent's notes.

french is lightening up. monsieur moreaux is a bit nicer. jokes around with us more, speaks chinese more haha.

chem hasn't been that great. we came out of the second test with huge "huh???" s. and then he got angry at us because none of us read the book and so he took the two people who did read into the back room so he could have a discussion with them. the rest of the class was supposed to work on teh assigned problems... so we finished them and we'd go into the back room... until the entire class was there and he decided that it was stupid for us to stay all cramped up.

finally finished two essays... my mit, write your own question one and one for a scholarship... mr ferguson liked them both. :) stuck studying for the physics sat II. i'm not really sure why i signed up for it in the first place... oh well. we didn't learn anything about electricity in honors physics so i have to do it on my own. lalaaaaaaaa.

Mets 3 - Cubs 2 (12 inn.)

When your team is out of the playoff race, there isn't a whole lot to root for this time of year. Last night, as the Cubs and Mets trudged through extra innings, a couple of fans found a cause.

As the game lingered into the 12th inning, cries of, "I want to make it to the Giant game [on Sunday]," and "I have school tomorrow" bounced off the empty seats at Shea.

Then again at fenway you have more cheering for Patriots scores than the actual game...

Hahahaha today rocked.

Physics woohoo. We got our tests back, wow. After getting an F on the first test(54%) I got an A+ on the second. (102%) haha. That was nice. I guess I don't have a D anymore. From the lowest in the class to the highest. Oh well Lawrence and some other people started making star wars references to it. "it's like the return of the jedi!" and then it got into a weird discussion of lame phantom menace lines, "are you an angel?" "of course! i'm the most beautiful creature in the entire universe..." yeah. fun group of people in the class. rest of the time was mr chan doing demos of newton's laws, including his barbie not wearing her seatbelt and crashing into the sink bit.

During free Tom and I went up to the math office three times because we're nerdy like that. haha. Mr. Perschbacher: "You guys again???" Got interrupted by one of the planned fire drills(the librarian warned us). Personally I find those very pointless... Mr Orensky was wearing sunglasses while we were waiting on the field.

Stats was pretty boring but I did good on the test too. So yeah.

Why is everyone applying early decision for Columbia?

Norah Jones likes Tenacious D. I find that amusing.

Lucchino says they won't trade Nomar. Yay.

I think I'll update this more.

My playlist is too long.

back in taiwan and a bit jet lagged. canada wasn't that bad. other than the fact that it was cold. saw wildlife. moose, bald eagle, almost ran over a bear, scared some deer away and i talked to a squirrel. i think it just wanted to eat the potato chips though.

television here really sucks. absolutely nothing on. which i guess is a good thing actually. my school work would probably be pretty crappy if we got red sox games here. especially when they're in different time zones and games start at like 10 pm. i guess i got kind of obsessed while in boston. i mean, you get like four pages of coverage in the boston globe and nearly all the games on tv. then it got weird when we got to canada because i started experiencing withdrawal symptoms or something... the newspaper didn't have box scores gack. (actually the newspaper didn't have much at all. i mean the stuff that made the front pages included a story about how an albino squirrel that was shot is going to become the centerpiece for some museum. very very strange)... so then i started flipping through channels and of course they only play the occasional blue jays game, sometimes expos. and then i find that while they play wrestling, they have baseball scores cycling through the bottom of the screen. so i sit through the slamming and yelling and fake blood to watch for the words boston and oakland to pop up. not a very exciting way to follow a game since it takes like five minutes to get an update. then one time they actually played the game(!) and the first thing my sister and i say when we watch johnny damon make the game ending catch is "he got a hair cut". which is. quite disturbing come to think of it. been watching waaaaaay too much.

oh yeah while in providence we watched a pawsox game(red sox minor league affiliate). wow. they sucked. just painful watching. it was like 9-2 and they got like 4 hits. the left field guy kept looking at us because he had nothing to do haha. at least the hot dogs were good. food = good, play = bad. food is good, play is bad. the mr potato head factory is right behind the stadium..

(9-1 ninth inning)
"wow this sucks"
"hey we can win this! just have everyone in the lineup hit a home run"
"yeah! it's possible.."
"oh wait... the guy at bat has no career home runs"
"ah well..."

watching the red sox game... what a surprise. it's such a pain when they're on the west coast though. games start at 10. zzzzzzzz. oh well. still scoreless. pedro looks happy he keeps talking to the fans above the dugout. lots of red sox fans at anaheim. haha. it rules. there's an entire section with them. and you can hear a faint "let's go red sox" in teh background too.

yesterday we drove down to providence to see brown. pretty nice. their 14 storey science library is color coded like the pH scale... riiiiiiight. no general ed requirements there which is nice. for dinner we looked for this restaurant and after driving around for like an hour we get there and ... "closed on tuesdays". sd/fjsldkfj. that was dumb. but we found a nice restaurant instead.

went to MIT today. very strange because this korean tour group that was at brown showed up at MIT too... i like the buildings there even though they're spaced a bit far apart. not to mention there's the "infinite corridor" must be a pain walking down it everyday. our tour guide talked really fast and loud... kept talking about the architecture and whatnot. there's a 30-60-90 triangle building, music is hte most popular minor(huh?), supposedly the strongest poli sci department in the nation, and a direct decendent of the apple tree that hit newton on the head. exciting stuff.

hahahaah the red sox game rocked. not only did we win 12-3 we got a fight. wohoo! that was fun to watch. especially seeing the bullpens run across the field to join in. i don't think anyone really got hurt... someone got his jersey ripped off... kinda strange right before it my dad was mentionning that the only thing he hasn't seen at a game was a fight. oh well. very exciting. i think there was more cheering than when mirabelli and daubach hit home runs. :O now i don't have to watch a hockey game. we got free noise makers too. and my dad got hit in the head by a bag of peanuts that someone wanted. only sucky thing was that since we had a 10-0 lead going into like the 7th inning the manager took out nomar and manny so we couldn't watch them. ah well nice game. outside they were selling yankees suck shirts. they have a much cooler one now. on the front it says "yankees suck!" and on the back it has the entire yankees lineup sucks. haha. "giambi sucks! jeter sucks! posada sucks! ..." yeah. i kind of want one...

yesterday while out buying tickets to teh red sox game my mom got bored so we drove by our old house. quite sad what the new owners have did to it... they put up a fence in the middle of the yard... goes right in between these two trees where we used to have a hammock. looks really stupid... also drove by my elementary school... wow it looks run down...

they played that hilarious derek lowe furniture commercial again haha. "that's not great, that's fantastic!" it used to be funnier because he sucked and you didn't mind laughing at him but now he's a good again and it's just kinda weird seeing him sell mattresses.

I had a really bizarre dream last night. It seemed to make sense while I was having it but looking back I get a bit lost. First I'm at camp with my sister. Not just any camp, mind you, but this is autoracing camp. Which is odd because: 1. it's in the middle of the woods, 2. it's overrun by little kids who aren't even close to getting their driver's licenses, 3. there are NO cars to be seen. Actually I'm not really sure how I knew it was an autoracing camp considering that there were no cars but I knew. In any case it was the last day or something and my sister and I were making some kind of list. We had markers and poster paper. For some reason everyone started getting rowdy and we finished our list. Then the cabin we were in, which was on stilts started shaking until it fell and ended up really tilted. Someone yelled out "I have a taco!" which we decided to write on our list. Only I couldn't spell "have" for some reason. "haev" "vaeh" "heva" it was quite sad. Oh well. Then there was a party in the woods and my sister disappeared. For some reason people with chainsaws started attacking and there were guns too. But I didn't really seem to care so I just walked away and someone ended up in some kind of suburbia. Then I climbed on some garbage cans over a fence, went down a hill and then it got even weirder. I ended up at Emily's house. Odd, 1. I've never met Emily, 2. The only way I know her is by reading her livejournal, 3. The only way I know what she looks like is the little icon thing of her next to her posts, 4. I knew the way to her imaginary house in my dream. (hi, if you're reading this it's all just very strange in general and I hope you don't get freaked out or something that you were in one of my dreams). So then Emily climbed out of her window(which was in the basement) and we talked and reminisced about autoracing camp, even though I don't remember seeing her there earlier in the dream. But apparently it was a nice conversation. And there were a lot of calculators outside of her window. She got kind of angry when I started turning them on. Then she threw an autoracing textbook(do those exist? It had a red racecar on it) at me but I caught it. And then we talked again and I woke up. weeeeeeeird.

Furthering the weird mood after I woke up I turned on the TV and they were playing the video for "flowers in the window" by travis. I could have sworn the video involved the singer driving down the road in his car but I guess I was wrong because that was one of the strangest videos I had ever saw. He was randomly walking around a town populated by pregnant women and there was a fashion show and swimming.

Um back down to reality. Well not really. Red Sox keep losing. Four in a row! To really sucky teams, nonetheless. Blue Jays and the Tigers??? nooooooooooooooo... They need to trade for a first baseman. Thome! Thome! um right. I'm a bit obsessed right now because I have nothing better to do than spend my days surfing red sox websites like this and this and this. At least the Yankees lost too. and Torre got rejected from a game hehe.

Very rambling entry.

Frequency was on again on HBO. I really like that movie for some reason. Even though it gets kinda cheesy and it doesn't really make any sense at some points. But it's cool, time travel without anyone actually time travelling.... and it has baseball. whee. Not that many people have heard about it though...

Red Sox lost again. alskdjfsla;sdkjf. 11 people left on base. and Manny struck out. blah. at least he's back.
